Who is Telling the Truth?
Los Angeles District Attorney has finally been presented with evidence from the L.A. Sheriff's Department detectives. The detectives have sent their investigation to prosecutors into allegations that Mel Gibson was extorted. Mel will decide whether to file charges against his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.
Grigorieva may face criminal extortion charges involving the release of Mel infamous rant recording. The deciding factor will be whether Grigorieva or someone close to her attempted to extort money from Gibson by threatening him with the tapes releases unless he paid her $15 million.
Grigorieva has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing. She signed a settlement in May 2010 that included Gibson giving her child support, a house and joint custody of their 2-year-old daughter Lucia, on the condition that she not release the tapes. A few months later the recordings of what appeared to be an emotionally unstable Gibson terrorizing her surfaced.
