Cindy is an unemployed technical writer from Texas. The self-dubbed "housewife" auditioned for American Got Talent 2011 and got to wow the audience and the judges with her operatic rendition of Puccini aria O mio babbino caro.

Cindy shed tears of delight and looked overwhelmed as the audience chanted her name at the end of her performance. She revealed that she had only started voice training in her twenties, because her parents refused to let her pursue her musical dream. Piers Morgan told Cindy her parents would be thinking they had made a “big mistake”.
The judges unanimously voted yes for Cindy to go to the next round of auditions in Las Vegas, Nevada, to compete for a $1 million prize and a headline show in Sin City.
After a great start, Cindy chose the wrong song for her second audition in Las Vegas and was eliminated from the competion. The audience thought it was unfair and hope that the judges may call her back for a second chance as the competion advances.
